Cuba

Founded about 1519 on Cuba’s north-western shore, Old Havana has maintained a remarkable unity of character through its adherence to its original urban layout. Urban plazas surrounded by many buildings of outstanding architectural merit and narrow streets lined with more popular or traditional styles permeate the historic centre of the city. Its overall sense of architectural, historical and environmental continuity makes it the most impressive historical city centre in the Caribbean and one of the most notable in the American continent as a whole. “UNESCO”

HAVANA CITY TOUR

Stop at the colonial part of the city, pass through the Capitol, the Grand Theater of Havana, Paseo del Prado, the Presidential Palace and Central Park.

Walk through the historic part of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982, to see Cathedral Square, Plaza San Francisco de Asis, Plaza de Armas, and Temple and other interesting places. This tour is a real treat for history and culture enthusiasts.

The Cabaret Tropicana was built in 1939 in the Havana neighbourhood of Marianao. The work was initiated by an entrepreneur willing to install a restaurant with night club–type entertainment able to accommodate at least 300 visitors. This “paradise under the stars” is located within a lush tropical forest with giant trees, royal palms, mangos, cedars, and other representatives of the local flora.

In 1992 Tropicana was honoured by the American Academy of Restaurants with the Best of the Five Stars Diamond Award for being the best cabaret in the Americas for its high quality and half-century history. Nat King Cole, Josephine Baker, Libertad Lamarque, Cheo Feliciano, Rita Montaner, Elena Burke, and Snowball are among the celebrities who have performed at this cabaret under the starry Habanero sky.

The show features authentic Cuban rhythms that re-create Cuba’s Hispanic and African heritages and includes the rumba, mambo, danzonete, and Latin jazz.
